Polar Plunge = Cold Hard Cash

Polar Plunge Donation

This March's Polar Plunge at St. Clair – the fourth annual one hosted by the college – raised a record $61,000 for the local Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics.

Just shy of 200 local citizens – including many St. Clair students and staff – took the plunge, backed by their fundraising pledgers.

The Student Representative Council (SRC) was one of the largest single fundraising organizations. Its board members, full-time staff and part-time employees contributed $8,000 to the cause.

A cheque presentation was held on March 29 during the Windsor Police Commission's meeting (with a pre-prepared cheque, with a figure that didn't reflect the full success of the event) ...

... And the local police service also thanked the college by presenting St. Clair President Patti France and SRC President Nick Goran with a beautiful artwork. It will be on display on campus soon.
