SRC PRESIDENT CANDIDATE MUSKAN SHABBIR MALA

Hello, Saints!

My name is Muskan Shabbir Mala. It gives me great pleasure to inform you that I am presently running for President of the Student Representative Council (SRC) for the 2023–24 academic year.

I am 20 years old, and I am an international student. I was born in India's Gujarat province, where I completed my higher secondary education in the year 2020. I am currently enrolled in the Fitness and Health Promotion program.

My journey at St. Clair College started in the year 2021. I came here to pursue my higher education and to enjoy a new experience. Being an international student, I have seen it is challenging at times for us to manage everything, especially without our family. Therefore, one of the functions of the SRC is to provide services to make your life easier as a student.

Currently, I am serving as a Director of the SRC. I became part of the student council to become the voice of fellow students and to assist them. As a Director, I am giving my best to interact with both domestic and international students by organizing various initiatives. During my tenure as a Director, I pay attention to the students' worries, and advise them appropriately, in addition to taking their feedback and ideas into consideration.

As President, I am ready to take all the additional challenges and responsibilities coming my way to make students’ lives easier by listening to as many students as I can, and addressing their problems with appropriate college officials or SRC board members. I promise to improve in the areas where we lack in assisting students by receiving feedback from the students. I will make sure it is my responsibility to make their time at St. Clair College memorable and cheerful. I especially want to foster awareness of the sexual assault and sexual violence support services, as well as mental health services, that are available to all students on campus.

I've always tried to give our Saints the best college experience possible, and I would love to do the same as SRC President if elected.

VOTE! Let your voice be heard!

SRC PRESIDENT CANDIDATE JAY KAUSHAL NAIK

The best way to predict or expect a good future is to create it.”

Play your vital role and cast your invaluable vote!

Hey, Saints!

My name is Jay K. Naik, and I am currently in my final semester of the Construction Engineering Technician program. I am a 20-year-old international student from Gujarat, India.

In May, 2022, I began my journey with the Student Representative Council (SRC) as a Director on the board, working for and alongside students. Previously, I was a Class Representative for the SRC for two semesters, which provided me the confidence and knowledge to become a Director. My best college experience was working with SRC, where I was able to make other students’ college lives more memorable by arranging a variety of events throughout the year.

Before joining the SRC I was curious to know about what goes into working for students while being a student. After gaining experience in the position, I can now see myself as a confident individual who is ready to lead with compassion and integrity.

As a Director, I have always worked for the students’ well-being. I have hosted and organized numerous inclusive events for students of all demographics, where everyone can enjoy a fun setting, engage with other students, and make friends.

This role assisted me in honing and developing particular talents required for the leadership role, allowing me to bring students’ vision into reality.

If I am elected President for the academic year of 2023-24, I can tell students that I will be a leader who listens to their concerns and speaks for them. My main goal would be to bridge the gap that appears to have formed in these post-COVID times between students and organizations. Finally, I would like to make the student council more accessible and transparent to students. I will work hard to ensure that all students are aware of what we are doing, and how they can get involved.

If I am chosen as a leader, I will lead with integrity and passion.
